HERMES SPRING SUMMER 2017 RUNWAY BAG COLLECTION

Hermes

In the ever more sprawling, frantic, overcrowded schedule of fashion shows, it’s a rare and luxurious feeling to be able to slow down and examine something properly—and especially when those somethings are produced as subtly as they are by Hermès. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski made an intelligent call when she invited the press to the Hermès store in the Rue Faubourg St.-Honoré to see her Resort collection softly tread the plush cream carpets—in espadrilles, leather basket-weave trainers, and all manner of refined, ankle-wrapping Roman sandals. To help encourage her moment of contemplation, she commissioned music—a performance by a harpist and Jarvis Cocker, who played guitar and spoke a piece of poetry that lingered over the names of flowers: “Crocus, cowslip, forget-me-not, anemone, honeysuckle ...” And so on.

It created a relaxing atmosphere for focussing in on the subtleties: fluted silk midi dresses with whooshes of godets flowing from the hip, herringbone linen safari suits, prints revived and reworked from the Hermès scarf-design archive, the high-waisted cut and leg volume of trousers, the piping that edged the cuffs and pocket-flaps of a raincoat. Vanhee-Cybulski said she’d been thinking about “The Clothes women wear daily” and 17th-century Dutch flower painting—the latter being less of a literal homage to the art than it was an influence on her color choices. “It felt like a natural step to show the pre-collection here,” she said afterward. “It felt much more intimate, and I wanted people to be able to absorb how the clothes are made.” Unfortunately, the pictures provided here were shot separately, and don’t convey the civilized sense of occasion, but suffice it to say that whether it was the use of a rope and tassel reworked scarf print on her dresses, or her deft way of placing a pair of marigold yellow pants against a shirt in a paler buttercup, this read as Vanehee-Cybulski’s most well-judged and successful collection yet.

Presenting the Hermès Spring/Summer 2017 Runway Bag Collection. Hermès presented their latest collection at the La Garde Republicaine which features white corridors. The neat catwalk brings in the collection‘s colors more alive which presents sporty styles, flowy dresses and clean workwear. The brand introduces their latest handbags this season. This includes the Cinetic d’Hermès bag, a boxy bag with top handle and a metal closure. The bags have chunky chain strap, which can also be seen in the micro bags that were seen in pair, made of crocodile, leather and lizard. Another new for this collection, is the Toupet Bag, a mini fringed bucket bag made of horse hair.

Hermes’s pace for designing and releasing new handbags is slower comparing to other brands. But when they do, it’s something big and impressive.

So get your wish list for next year, because we’re going to add some bags that you need.

A new boxy bag, kind-of a luggage-style tote bag. It’s small but with huge impact. The bag can be carried on your shoulder or by hand, even the bottom studs are stunning.

The center lock is adorned with the new ‘Hermes’ Clasp and we absolutely love that. The style is ladylike and it’s perfect for work as well as the casual days. The design is minimal, modern and above all… timeless.

This bag is available in normal leather or exotic leather like croc.

Uniqueness is what we can always expect from Hermes. Take a look at this new tote bag – round-shaped, small and easy-to-carry. A unique design and certainly casual but chic. We are really looking forward to see more of the interior.

What is really in these days are miniature bags with chain, they can either be carried or attached to your favorite bag. This creates some extra exclusivity to your style. The small accessories for the Spring Summer 2017 Runway are these small pouches or wallets with chain. They can be carried around your neck like a necklace. Simple, easy and transportable, maybe perfect for the evening?

So what do you think about this collection?

Hermes Spring/Summer 2017 RTW Plays With Pops of Colors & Fine Tailoring

Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski created a beautiful presentation for Hermès, unsurprisingly, and showed the Hermès spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection in such a way that nothing could distract from the clothes that were shown down the runway. After seeing the collection, it is highly unlikely much could distract from a stunning arrangement of ensembles that hit multiple trends for spring and summer 2017.

The collection included ensembles for every need from work to play with interesting silhouettes that ranged from fitted to floating in colors that are bold and bright. The design of the runway boosted these looks, enhancing them as they shone down the runway with the audience sitting closer to the runways for the best views within curtained all white corridors created specifically for this runway.

Beautiful leatherwork popped up in skirts and coats with a visible patchwork feel. The enticing superiority that Hermès leatherwork is known for was also apparent in the shoes and handbags.

The Hermes work looks for spring 2017 had a high waisted and very linear theme, the silhouettes appearing long and lean. High waisted, loose legged pants and ‘80s era reminiscent tops are making a fierce comeback, having been seen on several runways and showing strongly during the Hermès spring 2017 ready-to-wear show. The broader, pad enhanced shoulders featured pockets enhanced with diagonal zippers, and many were tucked neatly into the high waisted pants.

The very popular fashion trends that have emerged during the fashion month for spring and summer 2017’s ready-to-wear were very present during the Hermes spring 2017 runway show. The use of bright and vibrant yellow up in six of the 46 gasp-inducing ensembles was refreshing. Bright yellow was also featured in the handbags.

Fuchsia has also been making a very bright splash as an upcoming trend, and Hermès has two ensembles featuring this color for the new collection. Not every trend made an appearance on this runway and the majority of the collection featured a lot of muted colors and quite a few ensembles in a greyish green.

It is, however, extremely apparent that Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski wanted a few trends to be present in the Hermès spring 2017 show. The interplay between menswear and womenswear was also seen in several of the ensembles as this is a trend that will be seen a lot this upcoming spring and summer.

The knitwear looked soft and elegant in fit and flared midi dress silhouettes. A pleated skirt was printed yet demur, it looked beautiful and simplistic but could easily be fit into several different wardrobe genres with little effort.

One of the hallmarks of Hermès is their leatherwork and their leather pieces were practically magic. One coat in particular – a darker, A-line cut patchwork trench coat with a brown belt was a stunningly beautiful piece of leather work, done with the same patchwork design that let the colors of the outfit beneath peek through.

To be fair, Hermès is not a brand about following or setting trends but about a high level of chicness that cannot be denied.

Hermès Birkin Himalayan crocodile bag review

Hermes

Today we are going to speak about an outrageous priced handbag, one that costs more than some people spend to buy a new house. This purse is called Hermès Birkin Himalayan crocodile and its price tags says $300,000. We are accustomed with Hermes’ staggering prices and the incredibly long waiting list for buying one of their Birkin bags, but this is just insane. No doubt about it, it is the most expensive Hermes purse so far.

hermes birkin himalayan

I have to admit that the handbag is stunning and that it has a couple of very important qualities that kind of justify why someone who is rich would spend that much on a bag. The Himalayan crocodile purse measures 30 cm and it is one of the rarest models on the globe. The product is hand made from Nilo crocodile skin in a discrete color that is reminiscent for the imposing  Himalayan mountains. This shade is obtained through a special dyeing process that takes a lot of work and time. To match the subtle color of the leather, the bag comes with 18 karat white gold hardware decorated with white diamonds. The iconic cadena lock of the Birkin is manufactured from 68 grams of 18 k white gold and studded with 40 white round diamonds. The overall purse has over 200 diamonds on its three different structural elements- the Plaques de Sanglons, the Pontets and the Touret.

The Hemes Birkin Himalayan crocodile bag was created in a limited number and was offered to a very short list of VIP clients. This very significant detail increased the purse’s value on the resell market so currently to acquire this model that is no longer in production thus not available for purchase you need to pay over $432,000. Hermes is the only handbag manufacturer that can sell on the secondary market at a higher price than its retail price.

People describe this jaw-dropping Hermes as one of the rarest and most desirable handbag in the world. And making one involves extensive work. It took a Hermes artisan about an year to craft the purse and the brand guarantees its sturdiness by vowing to repair it any scratches or damages immediately.  Considering the scandalous price I seriously doubt that anyone would ever wear or handle the bag without extreme care. I, for one, would keep it on a pedestal if I had one.

kim kardashian hermes birkin himalayan bag

Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, Tamara Ecclestone and Marjorie Harvey are just a few of the celebrities that own this much-sought after purse. A couple of very interesting thing about Victorian Beckham and Kim Kardashian who are huge fans of Hermes Birkin bags. Victoria Beckham has a collection of Hermes purses that is estimated at over 2 million dollars while Kim Kardashian has so many Birkin that she uses one for the gym and has another one that has been hand painted by her daughter to look more interesting. For those who are not familiar with the price range for a regular Birkin, the most ‘inexpensive’ version costs about $10,000.

So there you go gals, if you needed something to treat your eyes with then you have certainly found it. The Hermes Birking Himalayan crocodile purse is a spectacular model that is manufactured from rare crocodile skin and is decorated with 18 k white gold and white diamonds. It is a luxurious bag that is available only for Hermes’ elite.

Gold, S&P 500, or Hermes Birkin

Hermes

What will you do with the money if you win the Powerball tonight? Perhaps you want to know what to do with that end-of-year bonus and tax refund. Purse aficionados considering stashing assets in gold or the S&P 500 might want to think again. It turns out the “safest and least volatile” investment of those three may be in the bag…the Hermes Birkin bag.

As reported in racked.com, the Baghunter compared investment returns on gold, the S&P 500, and the Birkin over the last 35 years, and the Birkin was the clear winner.  In that time, the Birkin increased in value more than 500% and has never decreased even in times of recession and economic difficulty. Baghunter says the Birkin averaged annual value increases of 14.2%, significantly higher than either gold or S&P 500.

Baghunter founder Evelyn Fox told luxurydaily.com “As a whole, the study findings show how stable the ultra-luxury industry has been over the past 35 years when compared to more traditional investment opportunities.”  According to Fox, “There is a difference between luxury and ultra-luxury. While the luxury market suffers during worse economic times the ultra-luxury market is impervious to economic factors that can affect other industries such as high-street retail and stock markets.”

Fox expects this trend to continue in 2016, pointing to the Birkin’s high retail prices and limited availability along with a strong secondary market from resellers.

Chloe Spring 2016 Campaign Is About Bohemian Carefree Style

Hermes

Selfies, incorrectly held camera photos and perfectly times unwitting pictures depicting the days and nights of a group of girls is what defines the Chloe spring/summer 2016 campaign, starring gorgeous Antonina Petkovic, Ari Westphal, Celine Bouly, and Ilvie Wittek. The new team has been hired as a manner by which to switch up the key players of the campaign, taking it all in a different and new direction. Clare Waight Keller opted to hire on heir to the Rolling Stone music magazine, photographer Theo Wenner.

Chloe Spring/ Summer 2016 Campaign

“This campaign is very exciting for me because I really wanted to create a new energy for Chloé this season,” creative director of the French fashion house, Clare Waight Keller, said. “Theo is a photographer I have worked with several times before, and I really appreciate his youthful eye and spontaneity behind the lens,” the label’s designer added. “Likewise, I wanted to bring new faces to Chloé as they represent a more adventurous, free-spirited, impulsive side of the Chloé girl.”

Chloe went down to Argentina for the spring campaign and it certainly paid off, giving us incredible destination images that will inspire travelling in style to somewhere other than the picture perfect Italy, France or Spain. Buenos Aires certainly has much to offer, which certainly made for a colorful ad campaign that aptly showed off the brand’s diverse spirit, with cobblestone streets and mosaic tiles as the perfect backdrop for the season’s collections.

“There was a color and quality to the light on location, like there is dust in the air, and it made everything more vivid. These colors and textures seemed to perfectly embody the spirit of Chloé and this collection,” said Wenner. It certainly appeared as such as we look at the way the dreamy tassel tops, silk dresses and fringed bags fit right in with the city’s atmosphere. It was certainly a good neighbourhood to be in it appears.

It certainly makes us love the collection even more, for the design of the clothing is positively superb and each piece can be worn by the ladies out there who simply enjoy looking young and hip, no matter how old they get year after year. If it was Keller’s wish to instill more excitement into the campaign overall, this move with new models, a new photographer and a new location to shoot certainly gave us that.

The colorful outfits were dappled in sunlight during many of the shots and everything had a rather relaxed feel to it. The carefree spirit was captured even more through having unknown streets used for the campaign shots, working so well with the full-length dresses, the multi-colored shades and loose fits overall, the standout photo undoubtedly being the one where the model gazes at the floor in oversized sunglasses while wearing a short black skirt and asymmetrical top that matches over it, a tan leather bag thrown over her shoulder. Out of all the campaigns we have seen, this certainly make the top 15 for us, fashion lovers.
